The Malayalam era is marked with the founding of Kollam in the 9th century. The later history of the town is linked with competitions of Portuguese, Dutch, and English for monopoly over Indian ocean trade routes and the goods grown in this part. Rest of the day enjoy rain from your hotel/resort. Overnight at the hotel.

Today after breakfast proceed for an excursion to Kanyakumari; visit Vivekananda Memorial rock by boat (on direct payment basis), Gandhi Mandapam and temple of Goddess Kanyakumari. In the late afternoon return to Poovar.

Today after breakfast depart for Trivandrum airport/railway station by road for onwards journey.
